Bryan Adams, PhD

 

Bryan Adams is the Chief Technology Officer at Healthsense, the industry leader in remote monitoring solutions for seniors. Dr. Adams is an expert in big data and real-world computational systems. Prior to joining Healthsense, Dr. Adams was a Principal Investigator at iRobot and was on the initial team for iRobot’s health care division. During his time at iRobot, he both led high-value internal R&D projects and acted as Principal Investigator for a project funded by the Army Research Office (ARO). Dr. Adams was selected in 2008 by the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) as one of 80 top young engineers to participate in the Frontiers of Engineering program, and led a 2011 session on robotics for the NAE’s Japan - America bilateral meetings.

Dr. Adams received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2006, supervised by Prof. Rodney Brooks. His dissertation focused on a novel application of black-box machine learning techniques to real-world robots. He also received his M.Eng. and B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT in 2000 and 1999, respectively.

   

Axel Bichara

 

Axel Bichara is an investor and entrepreneur who helps build great companies as a board member, advisor, investor, and sometimes co-founder. He works with strong entrepreneurs who have big ideas and pursue sizable upside opportunities in the technology business.

Before working on his own, Axel was a partner at Atlas Venture from 1993 to 2012 and was part of the team which raised and invested a $2.6 billion fund. Before Atlas he co-founded Premise, a venture backed software company spun out of MIT and acquired by Computervision.

Dragon’s customers and partners will recognize some of the CAD companies Axel has helped start or been involved in as lead investor including SolidWorks, Belmont Technolgies, GrabCAD, Revit, and Premise.

Axel holds a Master’s degree in engineering from MIT, an MBA from INSEAD, and a mechanical engineering degree from Technical University Berlin.

   

Alan Frohman, PhD

 

A leading authority on leadership development, strategic planning, organizational change and technology management, Dr. Alan Frohman has worked with many of the Fortune 500 companies including Cisco Systems, Pfizer, IBM, Procter & Gamble, General Motors and others across a wide variety of industries in North America, South America, Europe and Japan. He works with organizational leaders to develop, communicate and implement strategies and to create cultures and practices that build high levels of individual innovation, productivity and spirit.

Co-author of The Middle Management Challenge: Moving from Crisis to Empowerment (McGraw–Hill, 1993), Alan is the author of Directing Strategy: The Keys to High Performance (Prentice-Hall, 1992) and has contributed to professional business journals including Harvard Business Review and California Management Review. Alan received a B.A. degree from the University of Rochester and holds an M.S. and Ph.D. from MIT’s Sloan School of Management. Alan serves as an advisor to the Dragon Innovation executive team.
