Die Casting is a lot like Injection Molding, which should be fresh in your memory from our previous lecture. In fact, Die Casting historically came before injection molding as it was one of the earlier processes. Basically, if you can’t get enough strength out of an injection molded part, die casting is a great option to consider as you're moving from plastic to metal. It’s not only mechanically stronger, but will also offer a broader range of thermal conditions it can survive in. It’s also a lot more UV tolerant than plastic might be.
