393% of $50,000 goal

Technical Machine seeks to empower software developers to make the next generation of physical, internet-enabled devices- from prototype to manufacturing.

They launched an innovative microcontroller board, The Tessel, which can be programmed via JavaScript. This opens up a new way for people with software development skills to break into hardware. Tessel features built-in wi-fi support, and supports modules such as an accelerometer, Bluetooth, RFID and audio.

Within hours of going live, this fantastic project blew past a $50,000 goal and eventually raised just under $200,000 from over 1,000 backers.
